  • Roy Bula (he/him)
quickly realized he wanted to give voice to the sounds that filled his ears every day. His love for music naturally aligned with his passion for words. This led him to study media and communication sciences, while also spending many late nights working behind club bars. Taking on the role of communications lead for what was then Switzerland’s largest music award taught him the inner workings of the cultural industry. On-the-ground reporting for various festival social media teams allowed him to dive even deeper into the cultural bubble. Eventually landing in Basel, he became managing director, booker, and communications lead for an alternative interim use project and live music venue. Since April 2024, Roy has been part of a pioneering initiative: Basel’s Club Support Office. As Switzerland’s first official Night Mayor, he now advocates for club culture—and makes sure it gets heard.
